When Family Caregivers Dislike the Care Receivers They’re Caring For

But family relationships can be difficult with complicated histories, long-standing feelings of resentment and antagonism, and limited mutual affection. In this hour-long webinar with a clinical psychologist and co-author of The AARP Caregiver Answer Book, recently published by Guilford Press, Barry J. Jacobs, Psy.D. will describe how caregivers and care receivers become emotionally disconnected before and during caregiving, as well as providing ways for caregivers to manage resentment, find positive meanings in caregiving, and set limits on the amount of caregiving they are willing to do.
